Pinellas County United SC - New Director of Coaching

Pinellas County United SC is pleased to announce the appointment of Beau Truong as its new Director of Coaching.

Beau Truong is a lifelong community member of Pinellas County, Florida. He is a graduate of Largo High School’s International Baccalaureate program. Throughout his life, he spent his entire youth career participating in various sports, while specializing in Soccer. Having played his entire youth career here in Pinellas County, his familiarity with the soccer landscape comes 2nd to none.

Beau Truong currently holds a USSF National C License and has a degree in biological sciences and has coached at Largo United and Pinellas County United SC.

Starting from a young age he had been a part of our Azalea Youth soccer Eagles program, from there he went on to play competitive soccer at Pinellas Park United. He then returned to the reformed Pinellas County United SC after a few years, then finishing up his youth career with Tampa Bay United - Largo.

After his youth playing career, Beau Truong forgo the opportunity to play soccer in College and started his coaching career at the age of 18, where he wanted to help guide players of the next generations to fulfill their dreams and develop into not only better players, but better citizens of the community.

Throughout his playing and coaching career, he has experience all the way from the recreational side to the National League competitive side, with his extensive knowledge of the youth game exceeding beyond the walls of Pinellas county and the state of Florida. Having had coaching experience in an assistant role prior to joining Pinellas County United as a head coach, he has been with the club for over 15 years total through his playing and coaching career. During his time at the club 9 of those 15 years were that of a head coach. His roots in the PC United/AYSL family has exposed him to the clubs culture, environment, and atmosphere where everyone has a chance to call this organization “home” no matter what background they may come from.

Most recognizable in his youth coaching career, he is responsible for producing Pinellas County United’s highest ever performing team reaching a national ranking of 4th out of 3804 teams nationwide, while creating opportunities for players to be seen across all of the United States along with taking and exposing his teams to international competitions with trips to England and Spain. Beau Truong has helped players obtain trials at professional academies and help mold players for professional team trials. He has also provided opportunities for his team’s exposure to College Coaches and recruiters.

He is excited to bring new ideas and continue to help cultivate and grow players in an environment that promotes our club’s “family” values, while not only developing the player, but the person as a whole by approaching coaching in a holistic manner.
